List of 400+ Women Political Bloggers
A List Of Over 100 275 300 375+ Women Blogging On Politics — by Catherine Morgan
UPDATE: As of March 25, 2008 we have 375 women political bloggers.
Answering the question…Where are all the women political bloggers? I decided to take some time today and surf the Internet for as many women blogging on politics that I could find. The refreshing thing about women political bloggers is their diversity…and here are 100 300+ of them.
The list started after I read this article…
Women, Politics, and the Internet — Katharine Q. Seelye
We know that women slightly outnumber men online. But at least anecdotally, it seems as if more men are on the political blogs, writing specifically about politics, reading about politics and putting in their two cents in the comments sections. Did you notice how many more men compared to women submitted videos for the Democratic YouTube debate in July? The pool of videos for the upcoming Republican YouTube debate is similarly stocked with more men.
Women In Media & News, a media analysis, education and advocacy group, works to increase women’s presence and power in the public debate. WIMN’s POWER Sources Project provides journalists with a diverse network of female experts.
The list is now in alphabetical order. If you would like something added to your link, or you would like your blog added to this list…just say so in comments. Thanks.
Political Voices of over 375 Women Bloggers — by Catherine Morgan
When I first published this list back in October, we had links to 100 women blogging about politics. Today, the count is at 375, and still growing. Are you a woman blogging about politics? Are you on the list? If not, please leave me your link in comments, so I can add your blog. And, if you would like to be a guest blogger on The Political Voices of Women with a guest post, please join our community.
I hope you’ll take some time and check out the women on the list…and if you blog about politics, consider adding some of these women to your blogroll, or linking to them in a post.

Hi Catherine,
Thanks for including my blog here on your list. I appreciate it. I think I’m noticing increased visitors which is good. I’m hoping that you will humour a small request. It’s about the description for my blog. I’ve changed the first few lines slightly and I’m hoping that I can convince you to reflect the change here. The lines read:
“first of all, you will not like me. that’s not necessary. i hope you’ll keep reading, anyways…”
Thanks in advance. And again, much appreciation for the nod here on this list. darkdaughta.

First of all, I think this is a great idea and I appreciate that you have me on your list, my blog is Conservatism With Heart. You inspired me to do a post on this on my blog and promote what you are doing. Instead of sending you all the links here of my list of political Women bloggers on my blogroll I will include them all in the post and then send you the link. I only saw 3 on your list out of the 24 that I have so it should be 21 new additions unless I missed some.
Thanks for doing this and I’m happy to be a part of it!!

Hi Catherine,
I recently launched a new web site for women to follow the 2008 elections at www.CitizenJanePolitics.com.
It has a blog with original interviews with women in politics and who cover politics, as well as research on candidate positions, a political glossary, and info on how and where to register in all 50 states.
Thanks for this great list- a wonderful resource for us all!

Hey Catherine Morgan! I’m hoping to get my blog on your very impressive list and I can’t wait to visit the blogs here that I don’t already regularly haunt. Vim and Vinegar has been called (by a reader, friend and fellow female blogger!) “Cliff Notes to American Politics” - don’t know if that’s good or bad, but I like it, and I have my friend’s permission to use that as my slogan. It’s been up and running since October of 2005. Thanks for this list and this spot.

One of the drawbacks of living in New Zealand is that no one knows we exist. I’m an ex-pat these days, living in Australia, but I maintain a blog focusing on feminism, NZ politics, atheism, gardening, cooking, and anything else I feel like blogging about. As I get used to living in Australia, no doubt I will start blogging about Aussie politics too. It’s In a Strange Land. The strange land would be Australia, or just being female in a male world.
I also blog at a newly started NZ feminist team blog: The Hand Mirror.
And there’s Maia’s fantastic blog: Capitalism Bad; Tree Pretty.
There’s been a huge dust-up in the American feminist blogosphere recently. I understand, a little, about how WoC feel, because so often, their voices are overlooked, not heard, even squashed down. Just a little, ‘tho - I am after all, a comparatively well-off, well educated, white woman. But the little bit of understanding comes from the experience of nobody trying to hear voices from beyond their own country. There’s a whole big world out there, folks.
And yes, I will be trying to ensure that I listen to what Maori women, and indigenous Australian women have to say, and making damned sure that I don’t appropriate their work, and force them to fit into my version of feminism.
