Hello! I’m a liberal blogger from the Maryland and D.C. area, and mostly I blog about Republican scandals and global warming. Big supporter of John Edwards!! The title of my blog comes from a short story by Ursula K Le Guin, “The Ones who Walk Away from Omelas,” about people who are unwilling to condemn even one person to an ultimate misery just for the perfect life. I’m always measuring myself against that standard of courage. Cheers!!

Hi, I am young woman of color who writes extensively about progressive politics, current events, and I mostly inform people of important alternative & independent news but also cover dance music, atheism, technology. and lots of other things. I am a 18-year old Mexican-American female from the working class who grew up in South Central Los Angeles and went to one of the top boarding school schools in the country and am an atheist & a progressive liberal. I am a teenager who believes in peace, human rights, and social justice and my blog centers around these things. I love trance and house music so I write about this a little bit in there too. I am also a techie, a news junkie, and a blogger. And I am currently going to college in Washington D.C. so this gives me a lot to write about since I have some strong activist ties in LA and DC.
Thank you.

Catherine,
You just added my blog (Liberty Street) to your list, and I very much appreciate that, but you linked to the wrong url. I’m at WordPress now, not Blogger, and actually that top post on the link you used is the one that tells readers I’ve moved and gives them my new address. However, I would prefer if the link just went straight to the new address to begin with; it seems less complicated to me.
So anyway, my blog address now is http://libertystreet.wordpress.com/.

Everyone who has requested their site be added to the list (from this point and above) has been added. If your blog has not been added it may be that the link you provided didn’t work…and if that was the case, please provide another link in comments.
I have received a few comments from people who asked if the list is covering blogs outside of the US. The answer is, if you are a woman who doesn’t live in the US, but you do blog about US politics, I can add you to the list. I don’t have a list for women political bloggers in other countries. However, if you are a woman blogging in another country, about that country’s politics, I would encourage you to start a list of your own. And once you have an established list, I would be happy to provide a link to that list from this site. I hope that is helpful. ![]()

I made a comment on about March 19, 2008 concerning the current political process with the Democrats and I would like to add an additional comment concerning women’s rights. I was born in August of 1938 and I have lived through several different presidential administrations. Having served in the United States Foreign Service in the diplomatic corps during President John F. Kennedy’s years in office, I found that he alone was the biggest supporter of women’s rights. Now that we are at last going through a process between an African-American (Barack Hussein Obama) and a white female (Hillary Rodham Clinton), I feel that although they are both qualified candidates that females are still being looked down upon as evidence of the voting in the United States. When will women get their real chance at freeing our society from some men who have “bullied them” all of their lives through marriage, work, and now politics? I have been married to the same wonderful woman for thirty-three years as of May of 2008 and I just want all women to know that I am one man who has supported them from the day that I was able to speak my first word. A woman as president certainly can do better than all of the men who have screwed up governing our beloved country. Continue to fight to get Hillary Clinton nominated and don’t give up!! Write to your Congressmen and Senators and voice your opinions now.

I gave men more credit than obviously was due. I have agonized with knowing that I must now vote Republican in the upcomming election but I know it is the only decision I am left with. I do not believe that McCain will finish one term in office let alone reelection. I do know that four more years with a Republican will be better than what awaits us with Obama. With great sadness I will go to cast my vote. I will not sit home but again vote for the lesser of two evils. I doubt I am the only one making this decision.
Thank you for adding me to your list.

This is my first blog i have ever created.. So I am still learning… It’s focused on preserving the wellness of mankind and all things.. So i guess you can say it’s about politics and it focuses on a green environment. Peace not war! http://dreamer-myonlineblogoflifesreality.blogspot.com

I refuse to cave to a minivan. I am still a tomboy - comfortable in Levi’s, my Yankees cap and Converse. I always have a political opinion…hell, I always have an opinion, period. And my hubby, my kids and my friends think I should run for office. Thus Momma Politico was born.
Peruse, enjoy, and know that our busy lives are as significant as those in The Washington Post.

Hi ![]()
I’d love it if my blog were to be added….I write alot but it’s frustrating having so little feedback on my ideas!
My blog is a very liberal opinion blog, focused on atheism, equality (for women, gays, minorities, young people and others), socialism, etc.
You can find the link to it in my website link, but just in case…
http://bluelinchpin.blogspot.com
As you may have guessed, it’s called ‘The Blue Linchpin’ or just ‘Blue Linchpin’.
Thanks!
(PS, technically I don’t count as a woman yet, since I’m only 17. But I turn 18 in a few weeks, so be nice!)

I’m kind of insulted. My comments have been not approved and I have not been allowed to the list. May I know why?

I write a blog called Illini Family Politics. In it I write about national politics through the lens of families in America’s Heartland. So much of the ‘mainstream’ media coverage is focused on topics *other* than those having an effect on my family! So, my blog is an attempt to get away from the sound-bites and really talk about candidates and issues that touch *my* life in small town America.
I hope you’ll have a look, and please include it on your list.
This is a great idea, and I am so happy to see the variety of viewpoints strong women can put “out there”. The blogosphere is such an important tool for making our voices heard.

“Everyone who has requested their site be added to the list (from this point and above) has been added. If your blog has not been added it may be that the link you provided didn’t work…and if that was the case, please provide another link in comments. ”
If this is so, I’ll repost my link.

The blog is about US politics and is written by a young woman. I see no reason why it shouldn’t be added to the list.

Hi-I’m a singer/songwriter from Oak Park, Il. I just created this new blog to try and let people know about a folk rock anthem I recently wrote. It’s called ‘Yes We Can’ and it’s inspired by Barack Obama’s campaign for president. I am trying to get my song noticed by the Obama campaign, the Democratic National Convention, and the world! I will use the blog to keep people updated on my little song’s progress. I need your help so please check out the blog, or go directly to You Tube and type in my name, Jeannine Haffner, and check out the song! If you like it, please tell all your friends…can we turn this into a ‘viral video’ ? Yes We Can!

I have a message to all of those that feel the ‘need’ to write-in Hillary. Please do not do this. It’s a wasted vote.
Obama Seeks to Add Black Voters

Now once on that link please look at the MAP - it actually shows HOW MANY blacks actually DID NOT vote in the past election. SOOOOOOOOOOOO before you think about writing in Hillary..you might should RE THINK that because while I’m ‘not’ a racist, I see Obama going after more and more blacks to back him. Yes it does appear that OBAMA is TARGETING blacks.

No More Apples is written by Motherlode, director of communications at one of the world’s largest construction companies. I’m a lifelong Democrat who blogs on politics from a progressive perspective … but I might be changing my political registration to Independent if the DNC doesn’t quickly reform and return our party to its traditional values.

I’d love to be part of this fab collaboration. Please add me to your list. My name is Nur, currently expat-ting in Egypt, originally from Perth, Australia, majoring in Politics and Journalism with a minor in History. I’m a muslim hijabi feminist. I’m still a newbie in terms of blogging but my blog has briefly touched on issues about women, particularly in the Arab and Muslim world (i.e. treatment, rights, sterotypes, change, empowerment etc) .

Hi Nursheikha.
Right now the blog is just for bloggers who blog about American politics. I feel bad, because I have had several bloggers from other countries ask me to add them to the list. I think the best thing to do, is for bloggers in other countries to use this site as an inspiration for one of their own.
This blog started as a simple list on my first political blog, that I made to see how many women bloggers were blogging about politics. And when it just kept growing, I made it into it’s own blog.
Maybe you can consider starting your own list on your current blog. Even though you say you are a newbie, making a list with links is very simple, and you will probably find it increases traffic to your blog. Just search for other women bloggers in your country, and start making a list. And, if I can be of any help, I’m just a comment away.
Best,
Catherine

http://green-jenni.livejournal.com
My blog is 1/2 politics and 1/2 green living (which seems to be a very political topic these days)
