Sarah Palin: More Than Just Troopergate
The Sarah Palin Troopergate story has uncovered more about McCain’s VP pick than you might realize. Rachel Maddow does a great job at explaining the story and what it means to abuse power. I personally like her “alternate universe” analogy (it’s so m-theory). And, you gotta give her credit for calling “non-truths” what they really are…
It’s not even JUST Troopergate anymore. Housegate is moving in…
Remember back to the first week in September, when it seemed like every day there was a new “gate”? Actually, believe it or not, “Troopergate” used to be known as “Palingate” in Alaska because we naively believed there was only one. Oh, how innocent we were.
Since that long ago time, our naivete has fallen away, and “gates” have been springing up like mushrooms all over Alaska: Troopergate, babygate, bookgate, pastorgate…the list seemed endless. Add to that a whole host of more recent and harder to say “gates” – Leaving-your-town-in-debt-gate, collecting-per-diem-while-living-at-home-gate, charging-victims-for-rape-kits-gate, trying-to-rid-the-world-of-wolves-and-polar-bears-gate, and we’ve been busy people. We’ve been focusing on John McCain’s I-didn’t-vet-my-running-mate-so-I’m-going-te-let-everyone-else-do-it-gate.
But now, a brand new “gate” surfaces. I present “House Gate”. There will be more digging on this one in the days to come, but here’s what we know now. – ready full post here

Palin omits Obama’s “terrorist ties” from her rally speeches in the spirit of stopping negative attacks. It lasts until Palin tells crowds Obama does not want women to be “punished with a baby” when addressing his abortion stance. But she does follow it up by saying “it is not mean spirited”

Glamoracy asks if women would “hate” Palin if she was a liberal. Let me answer on my behalf – if she was for any form of women’s equality (ERA!) , did not make rape victims pay for their rape kits, did not say “she tolerates” when she speaks of gay rights, recognized the need to improve our nations health care, stopped implying Obama is UnAmerican because of propaganda that failed to work a year ago, could name a Supreme Court case or a paper she read each day I would not be as scared to have her as number two.

It’s unbelievable how gullible people are. They are told to believe: up is down, black is white, it’s a sunny day but it’s pouring rain, red is green – oops! – crash!
This is a question (from a 3rd grader) asked by an adult reporter:
Just what do you think is the role of the Vice President of The United States?
Well, we preside over the senate and we get in there and we can mix it up to make changes, we are hands on. Wrong again Mrs. Palin.
Why in the world should we allow this sequestering of an untested candidate? It is obsurd!
Imagine you were on a first date and they would reveal nothing about themselves except their (limited) accomplishments. Wouldn’t you want to know a little bit more than just what the “resume” states? It’s totally unbelievable that anyone would tolerate this in their personal life. Well you know what, if you vote for this idiot ,you do not have the option of Divorcing them, or Annulling the marriage. We will ALL be stuck for four years with this pathetic decision.
Oh, those grade school kids and their “gotcha” questions.

When Sarah Palin was the mayor of Wasilla, Alaska, she awarded a $12 million contract to a company to build a sports complex in Wasilla.
At the same time that company built the sports complex it also built a nearby house for the Palins for free. The result is a huge half a million dollar, two-story, 3,450-square-foot, four-bedroom, four-bath house.
To desperately try and cover-up this blatant graft, the Palins recently concocted the absurd (and completely unsubstantiated) story that Todd Palin, with no known prior experience building anything, supposedly built the huge house himself, with the free help of unidentified “friends,” who just happen to be experienced building contractors.
Was the Palins’ house built for free as payback for the sports complex contract?

The film clearly shows Palin as an active participant in the AIP Group. Her husband clearly a long term member. The film clearly shows that AIP is an extreme radical group capable of almost anything that gets into their belief system. In this case what is in that belief system is that the have found a way to separate Alaska into its own country kinda sorta legally and they needed powerful friends.
It is clear that AIP has supported and promoted Palin for years.
As mayor Palin supported and pushed through a 22 million dollar boondoggle hockey rink that is built on land the city doesn‘t own and is being legally contested on and built by all debt taking the once in the black town straight down into millions in red ink. Who are the guys who got the contracts? Connected to Palin?? Yes, connected to AIP? Not that I know of yet.
At the same time the Palins built a new house on a favored piece of land, worth well over and in excess of their means. Husband Todd claimed, again on film, that he built it with some builder pals implying it was just him and some buds throwing together a hunting shack. This is a full on McMansion and I sure wish I had friends like that. Where is the mortgage? Where are the receipts? Where did the hundreds of thousands come from? Where are these good buddies?
Sarah Palin was elected with the full and active support of the AIP still thinking they can break up the USA and get their own oil and gas producing hunting park yaahoo! Shortly after her election she hired a big time PR firm and actively began having herself pitched….
As Dan Quayle said kinda more or less, I didn’t just fall into the VP slot I positioned myself for it…..
Which is what Palin had been doing then… positioning herself.
Along comes a simple minded and pissed off “I can’t pick my friend Joe” McCain and he makes one of his famous “maverick” moves betting the future of the USA on an unvested but admit tingly a curvy rear end on his fellow “mavericky” female!! Whoop whoop for VP of the good old Unitiy states.
I don’t know about you but if Hollywood wrote this I wouldn’t believe it. So why did I get wet pants after it occurred to me then?
