I’ve had a crazy week, but I still wanted to pull a quick Election Blog Roundup together. Let’s start with an interview with John Edwards on the Today Show, and then look at what what bloggers are talking about.

From Tennessee Guerilla Women

The only question about West Virginia is how bitterly is Obama going to get stomped? American Research Group calls it for Hillary at 66-23. Heh. Big Tent Dem has details. Kentucky? Rasmussen Reports (May 5) has Hillary stomping Obama 56-31.

Hillary Rodham Clinton can still win the nomination and be Madame President as long as no one takes the Obama News Network seriously. That shouldn’t be too hard.

From Talking Points Memo

Rep. Tim Mahoney, an uncommitted super-del, is getting aggressively courted by both Hillary and Obama, but to no avail, it turns out.

Mahoney met privately with Hillary yesterday, and today with Obama.

But whatever charm was exercised on him by these two candidates behind closed doors apparently didn’t sway him. Mahoney’s spokesperson, Leslie Pollner, told me a few moments ago:

“He intends to remain uncommitted.”

From Hot Air

Did Barack Obama send a subtle message to Hillary Clinton about the potential for her to join him on the Democratic ticket last night on CNN? The Guardian picked up on the nuance in Obama’s generous description of Hillary to Wolf Blitzer, all the way across the pond. The Obama campaign wants an end to the internecine battling and may have sent up the biggest signal yet that they’re prepared to cut a deal — or it could just be a gracious way out of a routine question.

From Pimp or Points

The writing may be on the wall for Hillary, but Obama is not getting a pass. If he really wants to be President, he has to have Hillary on the ticket. It won’t be the first time that nominees for the highest office didn’t get along. Think Bill Clinton, Al Gore as a recent example.

There may be bad blood, but now this would be history making. I would say the same if the roles were reversed. It is clear that Dems want them both.

The question is will she accept if she loses her bid for the oval office?

From Left Talk

This is the supposed Michigan compromise.

The state party’s executive committee voted today to ask the national party’s Rules and Bylaws Committee to approve the 69-59 delegate split when it meets May 31. The plan would shrink Clinton’s delegate edge in Michigan from 18 to 10 and allow the state’s 157 delegates and superdelegates to be seated at the convention.

Clinton won the Jan. 15 Michigan primary and was to get 73 pledged delegates under state party rules, while Obama was to get 55. The state also has 29 superdelegates.

The 69-59 split was proposed last week by four prominent Michigan Democrats who have been working for months to find a way to get Michigan’s delegates seated at the Aug. 25-28 convention in Denver: U.S. Rep. Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick, United Auto Workers President Ron Gettelfinger, U.S. Sen. Carl Levin and DNC member Debbie Dingell.

Shorter version: It not only gives Obama all of the uncommitted delegates, a number that includes those who voted for uncommitted for Edwards, it includes those who voted for Dodd, Kucinich and Gravel and gives him some that voted for Hillary.

Perhaps it might be worth considering a write-in campaign for John Edwards in the 2008 Presidential election. If you want to show your support, sign the on-line petition at http://www.BringBackJohnEdwards.com
