Doesn’t congress have more important things to do? Why is congress spending time and money holding hearings on the use of steroids in professional baseball? Doesn’t our country have a few other (possibly more pressing) issues to deal with at the moment? It seems I’m not the only one who thinks so…
Roger Clemens, in heated and sometimes indignant testimony, told a House oversight committee on Wednesday that his former teammate Andy Pettitte “misremembers” two conversations they had about human growth hormone, and that he was shocked to learn later that Mr. Pettitte had used the substance himself. — read full article at The New York Times
Breaking: Congress Wasting Time…
Instead of dealing with the bankrupting of Social Security, stunting illegal immigration, or the tanking economy, Congress today is helping all Americans by trying to get to the bottom of whether Roger Clemens put steroids in his body as a way of cheating in baseball.
Congress Should Stick to Debating Policy Not Baseball…
Congress should not be conducting a dog and pony show simply for the benefit of a national TV audience when we could be investigating the billions of dollars that the federal government wastes. The committee should be spending its time on oversight and government accountability not on ‘he said, she said’ dispute resolution.
I’ve really tried to avoid this, but it seems to be a big story. so here’s a list of things i’ve been wanting to say about the whole steroid, congress, roger clemens thing.
Today’s hearing certainly didn’t lack for drama. Someone obviously lied. Actually both of them probably lied about numerous things, and I don’t know that we have any clearer picture of the central question — did Roger ‘roid — than we had when the day began. Far too much was said about Roger Clemens’ butt.
