We Can’t Have A Woman In The White House?

This is from a post at The Crone Speaks.

Like every other morning, I am listening to C-SPAN’s Washington Journal, and I was floored by the ignorance of a particular caller this morning. Okay, being floored by people’s ignorance isn’t something new, but this was a particularly asinine opinion expressed by a Huckabee voter. Remember that I’m paraphrasing here:

We can’t put a woman in the White House because we are dealing with countries that do not respect women.

On it’s face, this neglects all the other countries that have women heads of state and women diplomats that these disrespecting women countries must also deal with.

This woman caller went on to say that she would support Obama, however.

I find her argument completely disingenuous, but I was also wondering how many people are actually basing their vote on this sort of reasoning.
