Election 2008: Vote The Issues, Not Electability
This is from a post at The Crone Speaks.
For the past few weeks, I’m been getting up in the morning and almost dread reading the papers. The stories are all the same, differnt day. I have to tell you, I am tired of hearing that Hilary is the front runner for the dems, and is all of a sudden having a problem, ’cause Edwards and Obama are catching up.
Fact is, the media put Hilary on the front-runner pedestal right from the get-go, and told the world that this corporatist, triangulating, politician was the next great hope. Except, for many progressive liberals, Hilary is just more of the same. The media, and the corporatists have set the stage, encouraging people to vote for electability rather than the issues, and the media keeps pushing this shit, no matter how often people like me say enough already.
The fact of the matter is, the people in Iowa are telling us who they think would represent their views the best, and that is why the door is starting to close.
